At Prima Piano we have multiple options to suit your schedule and billing preferences.
Suits school children or adults who like to have a regular weekly routine for lessons. The schedule follows the school terms, so there are breaks over each school holiday period. With this option, there are 10 or 11 weeks per term and you are allowed 1 make-up lesson per term for a cancelled lesson.
With term billing you can pay either in full by the term or monthly.
Suits adults or older students that may have varying availability. This option provides more flexibility in that you can cancel and reschedule lessons more easily without penalty. Lessons can also continue during the school holiday periods.
Casual billing is paid monthly in advance.
Our teaching calendar coincides with the NSW public school term dates.
There are 41 lessons in the current year.
*Not applicable to casual students
When you sign up for piano lessons with us and become a member of the Prima Piano studio, your agreed lesson day and time is reserved and guaranteed for you, every week.
The fixed monthly rate is calculated by dividing the yearly total evenly between the 11 months from February to December, based on 41 lessons per year. All lessons follow the studio calendar which means whether there are 5 or 2 lessons in that month, the tuition fee is exactly the same. Mid-year enrolments will be charged pro-rata for the remaining lessons of the current month and the regular monthly fee will apply to all months following.
Casual lessons are not required to follow the studio calendar and are booked on a monthly basis in advance.
All payments are due on the 1st of each month (1st February - 1st December 2024)
A once-yearly enrolment fee of $72 per student will be charged at the start of each year and covers the costs associated with student administration, printing of teaching materials, digital licences for sheet music, software and Apps, recitals and other insurance and studio maintenance costs.
Additional payments may be required for the purpose of purchasing student repertoire/method books or for any costs associated with the entry in exams or eisteddfods.
One makeup credit is allowed during each term for any absence when notified more than 12 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson. If less than 12 hours notice is given no makeup credit will be offered. Makeup lessons are for lessons taken ONLINE ONLY. We cannot offer in-person makeup lessons as scheduling these can be very difficult.
Makeup credits may be used at any time during the current term or subsequent school holiday session (pending individual teacher availability in the schedule). The makeup credit cannot be carried over into the following term.
If you plan on missing more than one lesson per term for family holidays, school events or any other reason you must continue to pay in order to reserve your place in the studio.
For extended absences of 5 weeks or more, you can suspend your enrolment at the end of the current month and re-enrol when you return but we cannot guarantee the same day, time or teacher.
If your lesson occurs on a public holiday and you and your teacher do not wish to have a lesson we will allow an additional makeup credit to be used at a time mutually convenient for you and your teacher.
If your teacher is sick or has a conflict with a scheduled lesson, you will be offered appropriate options to make up for the missed lesson.
Our teachers may occasionally take time off for professional development opportunities interstate or overseas. Under these circumstances, we may be able to arrange for a substitute teacher to cover your regular teacher during their absence. While it would be our recommendation to always maintain continuity of lessons, if preferred you can suspend lessons until your teacher returns and a full refund will be given for that period.
